According to Wikipedia: "Sustainability is about meeting human demands without compromising natural resources." This means that if we don't take care of nature, there won't be any natural resources left in future generations.
This definition includes two critical concepts - conservation and stewardship. Conservation refers to taking steps to protect existing natural resources from damage by humans. Stewardship involves protecting these same resources so they will continue to exist in the future.
Relationship between Quality and Sustainability:
Quality is the ability to satisfy requirements, while sustainability is the ability to continue to do so over time. Sustainability is about the long-term health of an organization. It involves understanding how the company will survive and thrive in the future.
In summary, quality helps you achieve your goals now, but sustainability ensures those goals are met tomorrow as well.
