What is sustainability?

Sustainability is a philosophy that focuses on the present as well as the future. It is about living in ways that does not harm the environment and allows the needs of the present and future to be met.

It has an economic, environmental, and social aspects. It is not about living in poverty, it is about living in ways that are compatible with the environment and not causing future generations to have to pay for our mistakes.

In short, it’s doing what you can with what you have now to make sure that your resources last for as long as possible and that there are no negative consequences for future generations.

We should not think of sustainability only in terms of preserving natural resources like air, water or land. Sustainability also means thinking about social considerations like equality, quality of life or social justice.

The Future of sustainability

In the future, sustainability will be integrated in all aspects of our lives. It won't be an afterthought or something we do on the side. We'll have more sustainable companies, products, and even towns and cities.

The reason why sustainability is on the rise is because of its economic benefits. It's a global trend that's happening more and more often.

Over time it will become apparent that people are looking for ways to live a sustainable lifestyle as well as companies are pushing to produce products that are sustainable so they can set themselves apart from their competition.

The trend for sustainability will only continue to grow and we should start integrating it into our everyday lives now so we can prepare for what's coming in the future.
